Iridescent Unicorn Magic : Keep Weddings Weird

This pastel wedding is like cotton candy for your eyeballs.

Maybe it’s because I’m a child of the 80’s. Or my Barbie fangirling. Maybe it goes back to my beloved plush unicorn with a scented rainbow mane, the treasure of my toddlerhood. It’s hard to single out a reason why I squealed with giddiness when Jessica (Shutter Envy Photography) told me about this styled shoot, but squeal we did.

Brace for sugary-sweet inspiration.

Leave it to HEB (the regional grocer with a cult-like following) to indulge girls-in-grown-ass-women’s bodies with this new flavor. The sun sets fiery twinkle to this blush beauty. We love the pastels with vivid accents, a refreshing, new palette the likes of which we’ve been waiting for.

You might be amused to know that this super-glam gown has a stretch lining, meaning it feels like wearing a pair of pajamas. Another bonus: sequins don’t wrinkle. Pack this bad girl in your carry-on and get on a plane to anywhere. *Listen! The sound of destination brides rejoicing in the distance.*

Indulge in the pretty while I go ask my Mom if she’s seen my Lisa Frank Trapper Keeper.

I mean, I’ve never been able to describe something as both romantic and tongue-in-cheek, but I think that juxtaposition pretty well sums up this styled shoot. If you came to this site for weddings that take themselves very seriously, I have to assume you got lost anyway, though. Lucky for you, I’ve got your life-size unicorns right here. I only wish I witnessed the florist’s reaction upon seeing they’d be installing the ceremony floral onto majestic manes. The result, together with the gentle bayou breeze, is dreamy.

It’s canon here at Keep Weddings Weird that brides need not wear white. What happens, though, when we have two lovely brides-to-be, neither of whom plan to don traditional attire? It all comes back to that

I haven’t told Jessica, but my own steel anniversary (11 years) coincided with seeing this image. As a direct result of the image below, I totally asked my husband to consider rainbow flatware for this year’s traditional gift. Thusly, you can now find me eating my breakfast cereal like a unicorn on any given morning. So, THANKS GIRL!

2) Holographic metals are quite possibly the new Rose Gold. I know! I know! Bold claims!
